 D-2 Kennels is
the affordable, full service facility designed for betterment
of retrievers through caring and individualized training. An
exceptional choice for the well-bred retriever to find and reach his or her
full potential in the field, hunt test venue or as a companion dog. We encompass all types of retriever work: waterfowl, upland - from
hunting/gun dog skills through the advanced standards required of the more finite talents of competitive levels.
Our location,
Church Point in South Louisiana, affords us endless opportunity to prepare your dog for a
wealth of hunting experience. The Johnson team has taken several of their students to superior titles, such as
Grand Hunting Retriever Champions (GRHRCH) and Hunting Retriever Champions
(HRCH). They have also seen students into elite groups such as the Hunting
Retriever Club's (UKC affiliate) 500 point club. With their guidance, their
students have earned passes at all levels of AKC and HRC events and top awards in the Gueydan Duck Festival, including
first places in the Opened/Finished Division: HRCH UH Pachanga Daphne Choc Thunder "Jenga"
(2005) and HRCH Lucky's Magic "Star" (2008); also, first place in the
Seasoned Division (2007).If you have an interest in improving your hunting companion, attaining field excellence with your retriever, or perhaps are looking to securing a new retriever
as a field companion, you've found the right place. We support owners and their
companions; not just one or the other. In addition to gun dog and hunt test training, clients can take advantage of expert obedience
training and boarding services. We are here and stand ready to support you and
your retriever.

GRHRCH UH Cropper's
Lil Boss Zulu ("Zulu")
Zulu earned her GRHRCH title in late 2008 with back-to-back Grand passes and recently joined the HRC's elite
500 Point Club. She is progressing now to her Master Hunter title in the near
future and is a serious contender to run competitive retriever events such as
the Super Retriever Series.

GRHRCH UH Lucky's
Magic ("Star")
Star representd the Gueydan Duck Festival this year as the
2009 Top Opened/Finished Division Dog and 3rd Place in 2010, sharing in
the top three with her sister and dam. She passed the Spring, 2009 and Fall,
2010 HRC
International Grand Hunts to attained her GRHRCH title.

With heavy heart and great sadness, we share the
news of the our recent loss of our companion, HRCH UH Jobe's Speed
